The continuous increase of the population, its progressive concentration in large urban centers and the industrial development cause, day by day, more problems to the environment. The presence of strange substances (garbage, pesticides, dirty water) of human origin in the environment, cause alterations in the structure and functioning of ecosystems. As the power of man over nature increases and new needs appear, as a consequence of life in society, the environment that surrounds it deteriorates more and more.
ResponderEliminarThe technological progress, on the one hand and the accelerated demographic growth, on the other, produce the alteration of the environment, reaching in some cases to attempt against the biological balance of the Earth. The relationship between man and his environment has also been affected by the urbanization process, which has led to the destruction of green areas to make way for new housing constructions, where recreational areas are increasingly scarce. We have not yet realized that one of the greatest threats to human life on Earth is deforestation. Undressing the planet from its forests and other ecosystems as well as from its soil, has an effect similar to that of burning the skin of a human being. Forests help maintain ecological balance and biodiversity and influence weather and climate variations. They also supply rural communities with various products, such as wood, food, fuel, fodder, fibers or organic fertilizers.
